Youth Weekend at Epworth
Young People Commemorate 300 years since the fire at Epworth Rectory.
A brand plucked from the burning - the rescue of young John Wesley from the fire at the Rectory - came alive for young people from Gainsborough and Grimsby as, along with members of the Epworth congregation, they watched a replica of the Old Rectory go up in flames.
They had previously been given a tour of the rebuilt Rectory and had participated in a tour of the ghostly areas of Epworth finishing at one of the most documented sites of ghostly apparitions - the Rectory itself.
Opportunities for food, games ( including a non-alchoholic cocktail competition), free time and sleeping on the the church floor all added to the menu for the weekend.
Thanks go to the people of Epworth for giving us such a good weekend.
Liz Childs
